About Indoor rowing
An ergometer, one of the basic equipment that can be found in practically every gym, is a key element of indoor rowing training. What if competitors give up water for a gym for a while and go for a “dry race”? Competitions on ergometers may seem monotonous but it is wrong impression. As a matter of fact, they are dynamic, fast and exciting to watch. Rivalry is paced extremely fast and competitors are to cover around thousand meters. It is the capital of Lower Silesia where annually the best Polish rowers come, both seniors and juniors – medal winners in world’s, European and Polish championships. It is Wrocław where they are going to race on ergometers. One of the most award-winning Polish rowers is Paweł Rańda who comes from Wrocław. His greatest success was the Olympic silver medal in Beijing. Indoor rowing competition is one out of four disciplines which have been qualified for the sport program at a TWG 2017 invitation.
Indoor rowing is proposed by Wrocław as a sport to be invited at TWG 2017. The competition during The World Games 2017 will take place form 26th to 27t of July in Jelcz-Laskowice.
